Agility and low weight along with electric starting makes the KLX140 L the perfect off road bike for a wide range of riders.
Four Stroke Single The 144cc air-cooled single cylinder, four stroke engine is easy to operate and simple to maintain. The power curve lets the rider use the revs all the way to the 10,500 rpm rev limiter.
Quiet Exhaust The exhaust pipe is curved to achieve the ideal power characteristics while remaining unobtrusive. The quiet running muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor making the KLX140L safe in forest areas.
Electric Start Starting is via a keyless electric starter button just in front of the upper triple clamp. The start button has an orange LED light which is activated when the button is pressed indicating the power is on. Digital CDI ignition ensures easy starting hot or cold.
Close Ratio Transmission The close gear ratios give the KLX140L excellent acceleration performance. Like the KX motocross models the KLX140L features a folding shift pedal tip to reduce damage in a fall.
Manual Clutch A manual clutch gives young riders the chance to master clutch engagement and gear shifting. The KLX clutch design features a spring damper to give it a 2-stage engagement that allows half-clutch use when riding at very low rpm or idle speeds and helps provide a direct clutch feel to the rider.
Perimeter Frame The KX series inspired perimeter frame uses the same upper tubes as the KLX250S. The rigid frame is designed to cope with the demands of off road riding.
